A Rome Business School Cameroon alumnus launches a liquid soap brand!

After graduating in 2018 with an MBA in Marketing, Elangwe Rose Anyi Ndip, a Cameroonian in her 30s decided to join the hundreds of Cameroonians who are working hard to promote “Made in Cameroon” brands. In December 2018, Elangwe Rose launched the liquid soap brand- “Rose”

“Rose” is a sweet smelling liquid soap produced in one unique color-pink! “Rose” is ideal for dishes and general cleaning of the kitchen!

Elangwe Rose says she started her entrepreneurial journey as a child. She learnt some skills from her grandmother who was a food vendor, a farmer and a petty trader. Rose said, “My grandmother could sell anything to make money as long as it was decent. She baked bread, made pastries, sold Garri and farm crops in the market.” She recalls that on “market days” she would transport her grandmother’s goods on her head to the market before going to school. Rose surely learnt hard work and resilience from her grandmother!

Her vision is to sell her product to every single household in Cameroon. She is aware of the daunting task of making Cameroonians believe in local brands. But she’s prepared to work hard to change the perception of Cameroonians in this regard by constantly improving on the quality of her product. Prior to launching her soap brand, this wife and mother of 3 operated a wine shop in Buea.

Asked where the inspiration for “Rose” came from, Elangwe says: “after developing a new product as part of a course (New Product Development) during my time at Rome Business School Cameroon, i understood the New product Development Process and saw a need in the market.”

Rose is employed in the South West Regional Delegation of the Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological development. She holds a B.Sc in Geology, and is an ACIM with the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.

She is grateful for the support and encouragement she gets from her husband!
