Outstanding Success Story of Fotabong Gladys Atembe

Today Rome Business School Cameroon, celebrates another outstanding Female alumni.

Meet Mrs Fotabong Gladys. She graduated in 2018 with a professional advance diploma in Accounting and Finance, and defended her MBA in marketing in January 2019. Mrs. Fotabong Gladys who is a mother of 4 grown children and who now works at NFC Bank as Relationship Officer, has worked for 26 Years.

She grew up in a community dominated by men and where women were required to acquire just basic education so as to permit them perform some "routine job to help thier husbands and their family". She had to surmount and over come this and many other challenges to succeed in her career. Some of these challenges included discoragement from peers who felt that acquiring education at her age and empowering her self was very unncessary, very busy schedule at work and at home, married and carring for four children, the need to sacrifice time and energy, as well as foregoing social and recreational activities to create time for her studies.

It was a real challenge for Mme. Gladys to return to the classroom to resume her Education in 2016 after being away from school for over 30 years. After working for 23 years, she saw the need to acquire a masters degree to back up her years of experience, empower herself and make progress in her career.

She is an outstanding example and proof that women and Girls' education is a strategic development priority. She has proven that Better educated women tend to be healthier, participate more in the formal labor market, earn higher incomes, and enable better health care and education for their children. She is a great example to all the women, girls and wife's who wish to further their education and make a difference.
